Gerald J. Gargiulo maintains a practice in Stamford, Connecticut.

Dr. Gargiulo brings over forty years of clinical experience to his practice. He is a very popular speaker and has lectured at academic institutions, professional organizations and lay audiences in the U.S., England and Canada.

In addition to his writings and lectures on clinical issues, he has focused on the meaning of spirituality as it helps in understanding ourselves. His interests extend to philosophy and he is a published poet as well. His approach to therapy is briefly outlined on the Practice Specifics page.

Dr. Gargiulo’s most recent publication is a memoir Broken Fathers / Broken Sons (Rodopi Press, 2008).

Other texts include Psyche, Self and Soul (Whurr/Wiley Press, 2004); he also co-edited and contributed to Soul on the Couch (Analytic Press, 1997).

He has published over one hundred articles and reviews, both academic and popular.

He is currently on the editorial boards of Psychoanalytic Psychology, The Psychoanalytic Review, and The International Journal of Appiued Psychoanalytic Studies, he is also an associate editor of Contemporary Psychoanalytic Studies (Book Series/Rodopi Press).
